Black Tied

I get inspiration from many things. When I have some time to spare I always scroll through my Instagram and Tumblr feed. I find the most amazing photos and the newest trends on there. So when I found the Black Tied Instagram page I was sold.
I have been following them for a while and I love their jewellery. Especially the cuff bracelets looked amazing, so two weeks ago I finally took the plunge and ordered a silver cuff bracelet.

It arrived very quickly and I have to say I am in love with it! I love the minimalistic, simple look of the bracelet and it goes with any outfit. Especially since I am in love with anything silver it’s the perfect statement piece.
I decided to put ‘BE HAPPY.’ on it and I love the positive vibe that surrounds the bracelet. From time to time we all have some bad days, so every time I look down and see the bracelet it reminds me to just be happy.
The bracelet is £12.00 and because it was St. Patrick’s Day I got free shipping :). I will definitely order a couple more, so I can wear them together!

My Spring Make-Up Look

The sky is blue and the sun is shining; this can only mean one thing: spring is finally here. I am very happy with the warm sunshine on my skin and the happy colours that go with it. I do really like snuggly sweaters and a dark, purple lip, but the cold weather is something that I do not like at all. I am happy that I can finally pull out my bright lipsticks and sandal shoes to complete my spring look.
That’s why today I have filmed my Spring Make-Up Look. I have been wearing this look non-stop and I am in love with the blush and the lipstick. They are both amazing!

Lemon Drizzle Cake

A weekend is not complete without baking some yummy treats and since I am all in for new recipes I decided to bake a Lemon Drizzle Cake. When Anna, aka Viviannadoesmakeup, made this cake last year, I knew that I had to make it myself. It looked so good and since I love cake it was a match made in heaven. Now it’s finally time for me to bake it and can I just say that this is one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. It’s AMAZING!

What do you need?
225g Unsalted Butter (In the original recipe it was salted butter, but I didn’t do that)
225g Caster Sugar
275g Self-Raising Flour
1tsp Baking Powder
4 large Eggs
4tbsp Milk
Grated Zest of 2 Lemons
Juice of 2 Lemons
175g Granulated Sugar

First, set your oven to 180°C.
The best thing about this recipe is that it’s super easy to make. Put the butter, caster sugar, self-raising flour, baking powder, eggs, milk and grated zest in a large bowl and mix it all together with an electric whisk until the mixture is smooth.
Grease a baking tray (round or square); this way you can get the cake out very easily. You could also line it with baking parchment, but I ran out of that (I am so well prepared haha). Put the mixture in the baking tray and make sure that the mixture is evenly spread. Put it in the oven for 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes you take the cake out of the oven and out of the baking tray, so it can cool down. While the cake is cooling down you can make the delicious lemon glaze. Put the granulated sugar in a bowl and add the lemon juice gradually to the mixture until it becomes a paste. I added a bit too much lemon juice, so be careful with that.
Then put some holes in the cake with a knife, so the drizzle can soak into the cake. Now it’s time to put the glaze on top of the cake. Make sure it’s spread evenly on top and wait for it to set.

Now your heavenly Lemon Drizzle Cake is done! Enjoy this yumminess with a cup of tea and you’re happy as can be! :)

I have many make-up products, but my favourites and my most used products are obviously in my make-up bag. I bought this make-up bag a couple of months ago and it sort of represents my love for macarons, and make-up of course.
I am always interested in what other people use. From a peek in their make-up bag you can immediately find out what their miracle products are for flawless skin and voluptuous lips. Today you will get a peek in my make-up bag and find out which products are my faves!

Amsterdam, Cake & Catching Up

Last Tuesday me and my friend had a girly day. We had lunch, did a bit of shopping and chatted a lot. We actually wanted to have lunch at a new place, but since it is Amsterdam’s current hotspot, there was no table left. After strolling around we took the tram to go to our favourite lunch café in the center of Amsterdam: De Drie Graefjes.

Ever since I went to uni I always wanted to go there. I am actually that person that looks at the menu online and imagines what she is going to order. So when I finally ate at De Drie Graefjes I was very happy.
It’s a very cute café with amazing sandwiches and yummy cakes. They also have an American Bakery right next door where you can pick up all sorts of cupcakes, cookies and cakes to go. They have THE BEST Red Velvet Cake. If you ever go to Amsterdam I highly suggest you go there, even when it’s just for tea and cake. Which might even be better in my opinion, I love cake!

Because cake for lunch is very yummy, but not as healthy, we ordered sandwiches. I had the ‘American’, a sandwich with smoked chicken, bacon and chive-mayo and my friend had the ‘Pollo’, a sandwich with smoked chicken, guacamole and avocado. Both sandwiches were very tasty and because we don’t go to De Drie Graefjes that often we decided to have cake for dessert. We ordered Red Velvet Cake and Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake and shared them. They were both amazing, but the Red Velvet Cake was the best cake I have ever tasted. I will definitely pop into the American Bakery more often to treat myself to a slice of that delicious cake!

We also made the deal to try different food hotspots every month. So whenever we go somewhere I will make sure to snap lots of photos and share them with you all. If you cannot wait for a new lifestyle post, you can follow me on INSTAGRAM where I share more yummy food photos and artsy pics!

GRWM Winged Liner Make-Up Look

Lately I have been very inspired by a few fashion bloggers. Their make-up is always on point and their outfits are fabulous. Negin Mirsalehi is the girl that inspires me the most and I LOVE her make-up. I think her winged eyeliner looks amazing, so I decided to try something similar. A couple of weeks ago I went to a b-day party and I always love to put a bit more effort into my make-up when I am going to a party, so I decided to get the perfect winged liner, similar to Negin’s.
Can I just say that winged liner is so hard to do. Matching them took ages, but in the end I managed to get two ‘sort of even’ lines above my eyes. I also used the Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry from my last post. This results in a lovely look with a Kylie Jenner vibe.

So see here my GRWM Winged Liner Make-Up Look:
(Disclaimer: Taylor Swift’s album was on repeat, so I am sorry in advance haha)

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms

As you would’ve seen in my London Haul I went a bit crazy in Boots and Superdrug. During these crazy shopping trips I picked up two Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms in the colours ‘215 Shameless’ and ‘225 Sultry’. Two beautiful lip products that are currently my favourites. I got them both for free, because there was a deal on Revlon products at the time. I already took pictures of them, but I wasn’t happy with the outcome. Then I got my new camera two weeks ago, so I decided to photograph them again!

Since the Kylie Jenner lip trend I just love those matte, nude colours. So I was hoping Sultry would be the perfect match. It’s a bit darker and pinkier than I expected it to be, but I still love the colour.
I picked up Shameless mainly, because there were no other colours that I liked. I already have a lot of reds and pinks in my collection, so a purple is something different. I actually like the colour a lot. I love bold lips, so this beauty is right up my alley!

Sultry

Shameless
They are both very easy to apply. They both have the same consistency and scent. When you apply the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm, a minty scent goes straight into your nostrils. In the beginning I had to get used to that, but I quite like it now. Both colours are very pigmented and longlasting. Even though they are matte formulas I don’t find them drying at all. Normally I need to apply a thick layer of Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream before I go to sleep, because my lips are dry and flakey after a matte lip day, but luckily those days have changed!

If you like a good matte lip then I would definitely recommend these Revlon Matte Balms. When I go back to London (and I hope this is very soon), I will have a look at the Revlon counter and look for more Colorburst Balms!
